Roy Halladay’s Mentor Dies

Known as “the man who made Roy Halladay”, Mel Queen, died today.

Queen, 69, was the Blue Jays’ pitching coach when Roy Halladay began to struggle early in his career.  Queen sent Halladay to Single A ball, completely remade Halladay as a pitcher, and is one of the primary reasons for Halladay’s successful career.
