Lobbying for Nnamdi Asomugha to Join Eagles

DeSean Jackson is lobbying for Nnamdi Asomugha, his former teammate at the University of California, to join him in the City of Brotherly Love according to a report on NFL.com.

Jackson lobbied Asomugha throughout their time together at last year’s Pro Bowl and said he’d have no problem calling his former teammate to sell him on wearing Eagles’ green for years to come.

Asomugha is a shut-down cornerback who would play opposite of Pro Bowl cornerback Asante Samuel.  He is widely viewed as the best free agent on the market.

The Eagles could also look to trade for Cardinals’ cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.  The Cardinals took LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson with the 5th overall pick in this year’s draft, and the team has been linked to the Eagles as a possible trade partner for Kevin Kolb.
