Two Phillies Head for Olympics

Two members of the Phillies minor league system are going to Beijing in August to compete in the 2008 Summer Olympics.

AA shortstop Jason Donald and AA catcher Lou Marson, both of whom have been rumored recently in trades for starting pitchers will represent the USA team in China.  This shows that the Phillies do have some worthy prospects not named Carlos Carrasco.

Although the Phillies need another starting pitcher quickly, these level players, who could make a real impact in the major leagues, should be kept unless Pat Gillick can land a good starter who will not be a free agent at the end of this season such as Roy Halladay or Matt Cain.
