Snider: The Spectrum Will be Demolished

After much speculation when Ed Snider announced the Philly Live plans, it became official this morning.  Comcast-Spectacor Chairman, Ed Snider, announced that the Spectrum will close after the 2008-2009 season for the Phantoms and Kixx.

Snider hopes to bring a pre-season Flyers and 76ers game as well as some of the famous Spectrum acts back to the building to see the last Philadelphia championship for one last hurrah.

On Daily News Live, this evening, Comcast-Spectacor President Peter Luukko said that a pre-season Flyers game will be played at the Spectrum next year.  However, a regular season 76ers game will be part of the Spectrum’s final season.
