A year ago it was the Boston Celtics who made the biggest off season splash in the Atlantic Division by acquiring Keving Garnett and Ray Allen. How did that work again?
Now, the New Jersey Nets have made a blockbuster draft day move and I can only think of one response.
The Nets traded Richard Jefferson, 28, who averaged 22.6 points and 4.6 rebounds last season to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Yi Jianlian and Bobby Simmons. Jianlian and Simmons averaged a combined 16.2 points and 8.4 rebounds last season. Additionally, the Nets aren’t clearing any cap room for at least two years as both ends of the trade equal approximately $12,000,000 per season.
Yi, who publicly said he didn’t want to play in Milwaukee when he was drafted by the Bucks last season, should be happy about the change in scenery.
