Phillies Bury Time Capsule

The Phillies buried a time capsule at Citizens Bank Park today.  Actually, they reburied a capsule that was originally placed below Veteran’s Stadium in 1983 that was excavated before the implosion of The Vet.  Now, when the Phillies dig up these memories in 2083 it will have some modern additions.  The Phillies front office added a patch of Veteran’s Stadium turf and a media guide from the inaugural season at The Bank.

Meanwhile, back to the present day, Chase Utley remains far ahead of his competition at second base in the National League All-Star balloting.  Utley has received 1,284,961 votes and should coast to his starting position in Yankee Stadium for the Summer Classic.  Utley also remains 174,790 votes ahead of Braves’ star Chipper Jones to lead the National League in overall votes.
