At 9:04pm, Marc Stein reported that the 76ers have won the Elton Brand Sweepstakes. Brand has reportedly accepted a 5 year $82 million deal to join the Sixers. Although this can’t be announced until after midnight, ESPN confirmed that Brand gave the 76ers a verbal commitment to sign.

Sixers Trade Carney and Booth for Salary Cap Room
The Philadelphia 76ers have reportedly traded swingman Rodney Carney, center Calvin Booth and a future first round draft pick to the Minnesota Timberwolves for a $2.8 million salary cap exception. The Timberwolves first received the exception in a 2007 trade with the Miami Heat.
